Privacy policy

Pianazo is an app for learning piano. It is meant for beginners of any age, including children, so we collect as little as we can: there is no advertising, no third-party analytics inside the app, and you do not need an account to use it.
What data the app uses and where it stays

Your private iCloud (iOS)
On iPhone and iPad, if you are signed in to iCloud, your progress and recordings are copied to your own iCloud, in the private database of your Apple account (CloudKit). That copy is yours: Apple stores it, it does not go through our servers and we cannot see it. It lets you recover your progress if you change device or reinstall the app. Without iCloud, or with iCloud turned off for Pianazo in the device settings, everything stays on the device only and is deleted if you delete the app. To delete the copy: Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage Storage, Pianazo.
Microphone
The app asks for microphone permission only if you want to play an acoustic piano. The sound is analysed on the device to detect the note and discarded straight away: it is not recorded, not stored and does not leave the device. You can withdraw the permission at any time in the system settings; you lose that feature and nothing else.
No advertising or third-party analytics
There are no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking tools inside the app, and we do not sell or share data with anyone.
Children
The app can be used by anyone, including children. We do not ask for a name, email, location or any personal data, there is no chat or contact with other users, and there is no advertising. In Spain, children under 14 should use the app with the knowledge of a parent or guardian. If you are a parent or guardian and want to exercise your rights, write to us.
This website and cookies
The app does not use cookies. This website stores one technical item, and a second optional one would need your permission:
- Cookie preference (technical). Stored in your browser local storage (
localStorage, keypianazo-consent-v1) to remember your choice. It is not sent to any server and does not identify you. - Marketing (Meta pixel). Only if we ever turn it on, and only if you press "Accept" in the notice: the Meta Platforms Ireland pixel would load to measure our ads, with a 90-day
_fbpcookie. If you press "Reject" or ignore the notice, nothing from Meta loads. Today this tool is not active.
You can change your mind at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. The legal basis is your consent.
Controller and legal basis
The controller is Codelabs Studio S.L., with registered address at Pasaje Federico García Lorca, 6, 3º E, 29130 Alhaurín de la Torre, Málaga, Spain. Contact: [email protected]. The legal basis for processing in the app is performance of the service you request by using it, and on the website, your consent for optional cookies. iCloud data is handled by Apple under its own privacy policy.
Your rights
The General Data Protection Regulation gives you the right to access, correct and delete your data, to object to its processing and to portability. What is on your device and in your iCloud is under your control. For any request write to [email protected]; if you are not satisfied you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above will change with it. If the app ever starts collecting more data, you will be asked first. If online features such as leaderboards are added in the future, this policy will be updated before they launch.
